Kritter Christmas

Okay so I just added one video but I just wanted to share this one too! I think Blake is to darn cute (I am biased, but still). I loved watching him up there. Proud mommy moment! This one is 'I'm a Little Tea Pot' Please make sure and watch the other one too, posted right before this one.

1st Program

Okay so our little guy had his first Program ever. His daycare has a Christmas Party where they sang songs for us that they had been singing at daycare. Some Christmas some not. This is one of my favorites!! Just wanted to share... They made the adorable shirts at daycare too. I'm SOOOO glad I found an amazing daycare! Hope you enjoy. They are singing 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes)

Santa Early...

Okay, so I know it's a little early, but he was there, and I thought after last year, I'd get Blake exposed several times so he might at some point sit with Santa himself this year. But he has grown up I guess, he was the first one to go up there and jumped right up there, sat with him, talked with him, and loved all of it. So maybe next time I'll be more ready for pics? We had a good time and he loved it. Maybe goes against my not Celebrating Christmas before Thanksgiving thing, but oh well, I don't have my lights on yet, or my tree up so I'm still winning the battle... right????

Family Pic

Just wanted to share our last family photo. We were just all a little dressed up and so I decided to have Connie snap a picture real quick, so I know it's not fabulous but I like it. Just wanted to share.

The next level....

Okay well Nick and I are so excited that we have been promoted to the next level of parenthood.... It has all happened in the last two days. Last night Nick made it in first, but I got admitted today TWICE!!

Okay so now for the whole story. So last night Nick made Blake go to his bedroom because he was throwing one of his new found fits (ever since he turned 3 he's been a little handful). While slamming his door, he said "You're REALLY mean". Then tonight I sent him to his room for a fit, and he said to me on his way there with a very good handshake "I'm sad at you mom", "you're REALLY mean", slammed door and said it again. It's so funny how he says it. It is so funny because the fit lasts about 30 seconds, he gets to come out of his room whenever he is 'over' his fit, and when he comes out he is in love with us again. He is defiantly trying out the 'terrible threes' the 'terrible 2's were nothing' At least we can find humor in it I guess.

Weird conversation...

So this morning as Blake was once again trying to figure out when his birthday is we had this disturbing/cute conversation.

Blake: "Mom I want Balloons for my birthday"
Mom: "Okay, we can probably do that"
Blake: "Then we'll let them up in the air outside"
Mom: "Why would we do that?"
Blake: "Because mom"
Mom: "If you let them go up in the air outside then we won't have them for your party,
how would you get them back?"
Blake: (With the you are the stupidest person ever look) "Mom, when I get my wings I'll be able
to get them"
Mom: (A little taken back) "Well Blake when do you think you're going to get your wings?"
Blake: "I don't know but when I do then I'll get my balloons."

I'm a Tiger

So I hope you are all ready to be scared, because Blake is ready to scare people this Halloween.... Watch out it's scary. We went to the Zoo on Friday night for a little thing they had and Blake loves his costume this year!

Funny Moment

Okay so I just want to explain as this picture is a reenactment of an earlier moment, but as Nick and I were sitting talking about when/where/how to get started on the laminate floor. Blake comes walking into the room puts his hands on his hips with his little tool belt, and goggles on. And says 'So, what ya thinks' then just stood there and looked around all serious like. It was Hilarious, and just the medicine Nick and I were needing. We are getting so close to being done and so sick of working on this, but are taking pride that we've done this almost completely by ourselves, we've had a little help from my dad, and from Nick's dad on laying floor, other than that it's been us. We can't wait to show it off at Blake's birthday party!

The Laundry Room

This is what our laundry room looked like when we moved in before we've done all the work to it. This is probably the most updated room in the house. Doesn't really make much since, but it has been the most functional now, and we LOVE it!

Now here is a picture of what it looks like now, after we've; added cabinets, changed the floor, built a lift for the washer and dryer, and painted it.

What new

Okay so we are STILL working on our floors (I promise pictures will come), but we are getting so close the laundry room is all but finished, The front entry is as finished as it can be until we lay the laminate in the living room, that's the same with the kitchen and dinning room. We decided as we were going we needed to pain to get rid of the flat paint we have, so Blake's bathroom and the laundry room have fresh paint, and we are going to paint the giant wall in our living room. We're trying it as an accent wall, so we'll see how that goes. We are both loving it so far. Well I should say starting to love it, since the work is getting closer to over (with tile that is).

We have been to a pumpkin patch so I thought I'd share some pictures with ya... Here ya go.

It was a little cold but we had fun anyway!

Blake was a little overwhelmed but loved picking out his own pumpkin, once we get it decorated, I'll post picks of that too!

The kids sure thought the slides were awesome they spent most of their day going on the slides.

Loved the jumping Pillow at the pumpkin patch, it was really cool, I'd never seen anything like that, but all the kids loved it. We didn't get to jump though.

Then I just wanted to share to; the other day when leaving the house we say a double rainbow.. Thought it was cool, then in the car we saw a whole rainbow, but of course I didn't get a pic of that. Just wanted to share.

Hopefully very soon I'll be posting pics of our newly updated house, we are loving it more and more every day even if we are SOOOO tired.

Dr. Checkup

Okay, well we had our checkup at the doctors today from our little episode the other night. He wants us to continue doing breathing treatments every 4 hours, no more steroids though! If he's not better in 3 days then we're supposed to take him back in. Otherwise we go back in 3 weeks to check everything out. He was supposed to get his flu shot at his appointment today, but since Blake now has his first ever ear infection he wasn't able to get it. Hopefully at his next appointment he can get it.

A little update about me too. I am going to start subbing as a professor at WSU and if I enjoy it and do a good job, then they are thinking about having me be a professor next semester. Isn't that crazy... I think I'll love it though. We'll see how that goes?

I'll keep you updated on both

Our exciting news is that very soon, we will be a family that no longer has carpet under their kitchen table!!! A day I've been waiting for for a little over a year now. We are putting tile in our kitchen, dining, entry way, laundry room, and Blake's bathroom. I can't wait, then soon after that we are going to be putting in laminate flooring. Nick's Dream, no carpet except in the bedrooms. People will for once be able to wear shoes in our house. I'll post pictures once we have it done.

End of Summer =(

So here's a quick look at some things we've done at the end of our summer. We're trying to end on a high note.

So We went up to Spring Hill again, and we took the kids to the fire station, they got an awsome tour and they loved being able to get in the firetruck, ambulance, rescue boat and just walking around.

We went swimming while we were there too, and Blake loves going underwater and swimming around, soon hopefully he'll be able to do it on his own.

We had a good time at Alyssa's b-day party. We went swimming outside and playing on slides, and just being a fool. I was playing with some of Alyssa's toys she got and I think he looks like Bob the Builder in the picture. Blake got stung by a wasp at the party too, but he did not have an allergic reaction so there is one positive. He had a great time.

Fireman came to daycare, and we got to try on their jackets, get in the truck and get sprayed by the hose. Blake didn't love being sprayed (not suprised), but overall he had a great time.

Update

I have some photos to share with you all but I also wanted to share what's been going on with us. Well Nick and I actually went out and celebrated our 6 year anniversary (dinner and movie) it was nice! We have done some more landscaping work at our house (changed all our mulch flower beds into rock beds). Almost done with outside stuff for now.

As I was just putting Blake down for a nap I realized we are now a diaper free house!!!!!! We were using up all our diapers for nap and bed time (even though we have had 100% accuracy with potty training around here!) but we are officially a diaper free home! That's certainly something to celebrate!

We are LOVING our new daycare lady even though Blake only goes 2 days a week she is wonderful. Soon enough though he will be going everyday. I can't believe school is right around the corner. Every day goes faster and faster around here.

As for work. I believe I am going to be working at Cheney High School, and Maize Elementary this year. I'll be doing mornings at one and afternoons at the other. It would be nice if my lunch worked out where I could come home (what are the chances of that?)

Not much else. Hope you enjoy the photos and Hope all your summers are going well, even though it's almost over. We're just going to try to enjoy it to the fullest!

I got to hold the little guy over at Jenny and Mark's after Jaren's baptism. It went very well too, he didn't cry at all. He made it to easy.

A little proof that these two can get along! It is just in short spirts of time. I think they are just to close in age or something? You would think they were brothers or something.

We decided to snap a family photo at Jaren's baptism!

Blake and Alyssa enjoying time together! They both really love the boat. Blake jumped off the swim platform into the lake for the first time, and loved it!! Thanks Mike and Kim for bringing your boat and taking us out!!

Dress Up

Blake was LOVING trying on my outfit for my 50's HOP we had at Deaf and Hard of Hearing Camp. I just had to share this smile. I know it's been a while since I've had much new on here. With camp and then we had freinds come down!!! We had a baby shower for little Jaren and the baptism is next weekend. Now school starts so soon =( We are just trying to enjoy every minute we have left of summer. I'll try to post more photos and information later.

Baby Jaren

Baby Jaren John McFadden has joined the ranks of the Kampling Family. He was born Yesterday the 11th, and going home any minute now. We are so excited to get to watch Jenny and Mark become parents and to get to spoil another nephew!!!

How Fireworks ended up...

So we were out doing some fireworks with Blake so he wouldn't be so scared of them come the night of the 4th when he is tired and grumpy....Well as we were out doing them, we noticed that the field across from our house was on Fire. A car had just drove by and the neighbor girl said those 3 boys had been driving around shooting off fireworks into that field all day. Well we got to call 911 and watch the firetruck (little one) and the police come and put it out. Now Blake thinks every time you do a jumping jack firework that it will catch the field on fire. He thought that that was what did it. I didn't think he'd remember or really not remember which firework did it, but now every time we do a jumping jack he looks at the field and says 'fire'? He's not scared of them, but just thought it was funny.

Swimming

We went swimming with Papa Lyle and Great Grandma Marge, and had a great time!!!

Grandma's new TOY

So our mother has been hinting over and over and over again for the last couple of weeks how badly she wished she had a John Deere Gator ride toy for her grandkids, so we finally picked up on the not so sudle hints and got her an early birthday gift and gave her her new toy. This is one of my favorite pictures of Blake enjoying it. HE loved it! I think these faces are why grandma wanted it so badly.

Playing in Wheat!

We went to the wheat field again this year so we could get some more pictures. I'm saving the good ones of just Blake for his 3 year pictures (I know they are early, but I can't take a wheat picture in November) so you'll just have to wait. I just really liked this picture of the two of us, and wanted to share. Thanks to Aunt Jenny for taking it for us, and for letting us use 'her wheat' !!

Hello

Hey, we are still here, as you'll see below we've been busy. There is so much more that I don't have pictures of (yeah I know 'me with no pictures' well I do have to stop somewhere). Not much else new here. Blake has been doing VERY well with potty training. He's had one accident in the last 2 1/2 weeks and it was kinda mom and dad's fault, and has only woken up twice now with wet diapers. He's not waking up in the middle of the night to tell us but he's only been wet twice so who knows? He had not had to have a breathing treatment in a a week or so, so we are excited about that. The most exciting things going on here right now is that My sister Jenny and her husband have been selected to adopt a child, and the little miricle is due to be here any day now, so we are all on pins and needles waiting and running helping them getting ready too. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

See what I've been up to

Nick and I

Well, I know this is pretty much all about Blake, but I just thought I'd update you on 'us'. Not much to exciting. Nick has joined a golf league through work, and I am playing softball this summer. I am also teaching a sign language class one night a week. Blake and I went to Spring Hill for the weekend and while we were gone Nick and his brother finished staining our fence so that is more or less finished now!! Uhmm.. Not much else with us that doesn't involve Blake so I'd better stop there.

Potty Update!!!!!

Okay so today is day 4 and we had NO yes that's right NO accidents. I am probably cursing myself, but I am so proud of him (and me for making it through this). He is even telling me when he has to go he sais (Mommy my potty's coming). It's really cute. We've done number 2 on the pot twice!!! I am so proud at how quick he's picked it all up. We have not wet at nap, or bedtime either. I am completely setting myself up for a HORRIBLE day tomorrow, but I'm so proud and had to share!

Potty story

Okay well we've started the potty training progress... On day one we had 5 accidents before we had one sucess... then we woke up dry on day two and had one accident and then three successes and we went poop and pee on the pot!!!! then so far today we've had one accident and one success so we are getting there! I'll keep you updated.

Potty Training!

So here it is our latest hospital pictures. This one is more upbeat though... After he gave up at trying to pull out the oxygen cord he realized he could still play etc.. with it in. We went to a doctors appointment on Tuesday and we were then put in the hospital because his oxygen levels were at 86 to 88, after two breathing treatments. He was put on oxygen given and IV and had his oxygen levels monitored 24 hours a day. We finally met the doctors requirments to get out on Thursday night so we got out on Friday after lunch. We were still doing breathing treatments every 4 hours at home and we went back for a checkup on this Friday. We were 18 hours out from our last breathing treatment and he had oxygen levels of 96! So hopefully we'll be finished with all of this stuff. Thanks for all the prayers that were sent our way.

Back to the Hospital it is....

So we are back in the hospital. I'm a day or so late posting this but you know.... Here's the story. On Friday the 15th Blake started having a fever, which got pretty high on Friday. He still had a fever on Sat, and Sun. Monday he was fever free, but developed a cough. So Tuesday morning, since he had no fever yet, I took him to the sitters, and went to work, where I decided he needed to go to the doctor, I got him an appointment for after school that day. However he decided he wanted to see me sooner, and his fever returned. So I went to get him early and we went to the doctors. We spent a few hours at the doctors office, getting breathing treatments and what not, they ran 'the flu' test (negative) and then decided when the breathing treatments couldn't get his oxygen levels up that we had to go to the hospital for a 23 hour observation (well obviously we are over that now). The doctor wants him to be able to sleep for 2-3 hours without being on oxygen and keep his levels at 92. We are awake on .5 liters of oxygen holding at 93, so I'm thinking we might be here longer =( I know it's best for him though.

He is starting to liven back up though which is good! He was dancing last night which was so fun to watch, of course I do NOT have video of that because everytime we pulled out a camera he stopped dancing.

Thanks to everyone who has called, came up to see us, and sent prayers, they are all helping us get though this!

~ Amy

P.S. I will try to post some pictures once we get home ( don't have the cord here )

It's OFF!!!

Sorry this is a few days late... but he did get his cast off on Friday. They want us to come back in 6 months to make sure it is growing straight, but we are cleared to do whatever! It was so great to give him a real bath. His arm now is really dry, and breaking out in egzima, but it's just recovering from being casted for a month I guess?

Friday, April 24, 2009

2 Weeks

Two weeks is the word from the doctor today. We will go back in two weeks and take the cast off, then they will take X-rays to make sure they are good and clear, and if it all checks out (which they say it should) then we will not longer be seeing red at our house!

We are feeling a little under the weather around our house though. Blake has really bad runny nose, cough, watery eyes, and a slight fever. He is actually doing a little better today. We're hoping for a full recovery by tonight!! Wishful thinking!

Also want to thank everyone who helped us out while our sitter was not working. We couldn't make it without all of you. It again just makes us realize we made the best decision moving back home. (not that I doubted that)

Driving my Car

Papa Donnie got me a new car to drive around. It is so cool, the key turns it on, the horn honks, there's a radio, and several other sound effects. It goes in reverse and everything, I Love Driving it around. Mainly in circles, but I love it after I get my cast off maybe I'll figure out how to drive a straight line?

Flying Kite

Mom is trying to find one handed events for me to do. Had to find a big enough jacket to be able to zip around my cast. Uncle John was over and helping me fly my new Mickey Mouse Kite. I thought it was more fun to let go of it, and watch everyone run to go and try to catch it. They would always bring it back to me too!

Bath Time

This is what I look like now when I need a bath. Mom can't seem to get it figured out, but it is getting a little better. I can still figure out how to get it wet. The bath was not near as fun with all that stuff on.

Friday, April 17, 2009

Dr. Appointment

Well we had our follow up appointment today and the doctor said his X-Ray looked good it is still straight, but it has not started to heal yet, so we have to go back next Friday again to see if it's started to heal yet, and has stayed straight. We still don't know how long we will have it on though =( Oh well I'm sure it will be here before I know it.

Easter '09

So Easter '09 brought a little challenge with the new cast, but we still made it all work. We had a great surprise when we opened the door to let Gizmo out and saw a TON of eggs spread out in our front yard. Blake and we were presently surprised when we saw that!

Drugs #2

We just thought these were cute, we have more because it was just so funny. I asked if they would give me some because they said he wouldn't remember anything that happened after it took effect. They didn't even tell us what it was called.

This is the picture of his x-ray before. That is what his arm looked like from the outside too. It was not normal. We did not get a good picture of his arm from the outside. We are doing better. I'm going to try to put on a slide show of pics and one/some of the videos from the drugs.

Blake Update

Red is the color around here. We have a bright red cast, and we go through surgery without rods!! It was a rather fast procedure and he was doing well after except for being STARVING. As several of you know he does not do well when he is hungry ( I think he gets that from me ). I will be posting pictures and a/some awsome video(s) from when he was giving the 'happy drink' It was hilarous! He is doing very well and we are home! I'll try to get everything on here later, but I have to get the videos from Aunt Jenny's camera first.

Feeling Better

Went to the doctor today and Blake is feeling MUCH better!! We do not have to do anymore breathing treatments, and I believe that the steriods are pretty much worn off. My goal for his oxygen level was 98% but he held it at a good 95 and when she was shutting the machine off it went to 96%, so she turned it back on and he could hold it at 96%! Not as good as I would of liked but the doctor was happy about that! We're just glad to not have to do any more treatments!

Here is my first attempt at a video... Blake had a good time in the snow.

Fun Day!

We had a good day, playing in the snow, once the wind stopped. Blake had a ton of fun, it was actually gorgous outside. You'll have to check out some of our pics from the day!
